American Solera. Oud Friends

Sep 17, 2020 | Mild, Unique Brew

MILDLY FUNKY.

Hailing from the English shores, milds and bitters were what I grew up on. I can’t say I have ever tried a sour mild….until now! American Solera brews a mild with Brett to create a funky version of the British classic.

Pouring a reddish amber in color, this brew offers up light malty aromas with a hint of woody oak and subtle yeast funk. The taste pays homage to a traditional mild with chewy bready malt and hint of stone fruit. The brett comes into play adding an extra layer of subtle fruity notes and additional tartness. Overall it’s not particularly sour and is wonderfully aromatic and flavorful. It’s a Unique Brew for a traditional style.
