Bonesaw. Crimson Skull
GET RED IN THE FACE!
A beer style that I tend to gravitate towards around this time of year are roasty brews. Porters, Bitters, Belgium ales and Lagers…..more specifically Vienna style lagers. These guys have more of a malty backbone compared to the typical lager and Crimson Skull from Bonesaw Brewing crafts up a fine example of the style.
A rich golden amber in color, this lager offers up subtle roasted malt with a caramel sweetness. A tinge of yeast funk finishes off the nose. The taste follows with more chewy mellow roasted malts with notes of toffee. A hint of vanilla lingers as the malts and balanced hop bitterness stay on the tongue. You could drink this beer year round but I’m all for enjoying a few of these in front of a roaring fireplace. A Solid Pick craft beer.
